still the reason for the season?

reason for the season?

as i spent most of my time this week working retail…selling those last minute $100 stocking stuffers, cleaning my house for my holiday visitors, & buying gifts for the sake of giving gifts…i wondered to myself, ‘is he still the reason for the season?’

  1. He is at our house. This year we are making a special effort to stop the commercialization of Christmas and focus on him. We will not be trading gifts with our extended family or even our children. Instead, we will get together for a good meal, and share thanks for what we have, and Celebrate him with Spiritual Carols, in an effort to reclaim the the reason for the season which has turned into a secular holiday just about buying more stuff.

    Best regards and Merry Christmas.

  2. To talk about the true meaning of Christmas and not focus on Jesus, to talk about giving without talking about Jesus, to talk about loving without talking about Jesus, to talk about good will towards men and not talk about Jesus is to admire the aroma and ignore the meal.

“O God our loving Father, help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of the wise men. May Christmas morning make us happy to be Thy children and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake, amen.”

Merry Christmas to the Bush Family

  3. The only thing that comes to mind is “Christianity without Chirst”. Sounds like a title to a book, but I also think its mentioned in the bible I just couldnt find it.
