why i don’t go to the beach!

on tonights menu we have boiled lobster!!! you like that nice shade of red on the ol’ back there? yeah…it feels freaking awesome!

after 2 layers of 200 spf sunscreen i still wound up looking like this today. despite this hellacious sunburn we had an awesome time fighting the waves today on a beach that had the double red flags up. double red flags usually means beach closed…not in panama city beach florida. double red flags means…go buy a ‘the south will rise again’ boogie board & hit the waves.

here’s to red, burnt, & peeling skin & aloe vera lotion. i might play with my shirt off tonight…who am i kidding…i’m not letting anyone see my burnt mooters. :)

  1. Is it wrong of me to even be jealous of your sunburn? Just curious ;)

  2. White vinegar takes the sting out, you stink to high heaven, but boy do you feel better. Just to let you know. I am also a little jealous of the sunburn, I would love to be at the beach and not in smyrna lol.

  3. you need to grow beard on your back.

  4. has anyone given you the old, “hay what’s up” slap on the back… in my book that deserves a sucker punch to the face.

  5. rlh27 – more like a kick in the t. e. sticles

  6. hahaha! you said burned mooters!

  7. well i dont care how to cure a sun burn ill just keep away from the beach

  8. Ha ha…I haven’t been to your blog in a while and I come back to see a nice pink picture of your back! Been there, done that.

One of the best things I’ve tried (and also the messiest) is cutting open fresh aloe leaves and rubbing it on the burn. It’s sticky as heck but it works. Works better than the aloe lotion stuff they sell at the store.
