hey guess what???

maris & i were driving to danbury today when the phone rang. maris answered it, and at once her voice changed. she looked at me & i knew what she had just heard…i could just tell. she looked at me, and said “she picked us!” i immediately pulled the car over onto the side of the highway…i couldn’t drive. my emotions were too high. after she got off the phone we sat there…smiling, crying, joyful, completely blown away from the news we had just received.

August Henry Bush is going to be a boy!! he will be born October 2nd, and we could not be more excited. this is one of the best days of my life today. Today marks almost one year to the date…in which God made clear to me that we were to move forward with this adoption. One year ago today we started this journey, and today we are one step closer to having a little baby in our arms. that my friends…brings so much joy to my heart.

we are well aware that this mother could change her mind, and decide to parent this precious baby. my prayer is that she is confident & secure in whatever decision that she decides. We are simply making ourselves available to become a loving & caring family for this baby. However, if the mother decides to raise him…i could not be more supportive & excited for her.

Thank you all for the support & prayers you have given us throughout this last year. We could not have done this without you. Please continue to pray for us as we are still trying to sell our house. We also ask that you continue to pray for this mother & her baby. Pray that she makes the right decision for her & that baby…whatever decision that may be. Pray that this baby is healthy & that the delivery will happen without complications. Please pray for us as we continue to work towards the money needed to finish this adoption.

i can’t believe i could be a dad in a month!!! wow…that’s crazy! :)

  38. WOW! You never, ever forget getting “the call.”

    We’ve had two “calls.”

Granted, ours went something like this:

“The birth mother of the 7 month old has chosen you.”

“The family has agreed to let you care for their 11 and 8 year old.”

Your heart leaps out of your chest and does a little funky ho-down in front of you. It’s amazing.

Oh, I’m a regular stalker of J & A’s blogs. Which would be the answer to, “Who the heck are you?”

  39. CONGRATULATIONS!! I’m so happy for you guys. It’s been fun following this process through your blog as you get each little piece of information. I can’t wait to see pictures of the little guy!!
